Hollywood convertirá el videoclip más famoso de la historia en película.«Thriller», el grandioso éxito de Michael Jackson con el que el rey del pop maravilló a propios y extraños y revolucionó el concepto de vídeo musical, tendrá su propia película.

El director que orquestará la gran aventura de convertir el clip en película será Kenny Ortega, responsable de la exitosa saga de «High School Musical». Y es que no podía ser otro, pues, también coreógrafo, Ortega es un gran conocedor de la obra de Jackson. De hecho él se encargó de convertir los últimos ensayos del rey del pop en película con«This It It».

La película de «Thriller» tendrá un presupuesto que rondará los 50 millones de dólares y contará con el guión de Jeremy Garelick, autor del libreto de la comedia «Separados», protagonizada por Jennifer Aniston y Vince Vaughn.

La película, que como no podía ser de otra manera mezclará el género del terror con el musical, estará producida por varias compañías - Gk Films, Fox 2000, Lionsgate y Summit Entertainment-, que pretenden devolver la figura de Jackson, fallecido el 25 de junio de 2009, al primer plano.

Eso siembre que los herederos de Jackson den el visto bueno al proyecto. La canción «Thriller» estaba incluida en el disco homónimo que Jackson publicó en 1982 y que a día de hoy sigue siendo el álbum más vendido de la historia con cerca de 110 millones de copias. El 12 de septiembre The Jackson 5 editan un nuevo álbum llamado "Get It Together" considerado el mejor disco de los Jackson., siendo tan sólo 8 largas canciones. Debían dejar su etapa adolescentes para mostrarse definitivamente como un grupo ya maduro.

1979- "The Jacksons" visitan Europa en la campaña promocional de Destiny, quien obtiene el disco de platino.
